What is The Current State of BB Equity Research Internships?

I've noticed ER as a whole is a very small dept of any BB now and that FT recruiting is a little more random than IBD or S&T. It has also been my experience that some BBs such as Goldman now only have ER interns in NYC but not in any other offices.
