What were the most difficult or unexpected interview questions asked?:
No unexpected question, most questions are average and typical questions to be asked during an equity research interview. The most technical one is to estimate the market size for a technique that seems most interesting to me in the current biotech industry, which is gene therapy in this case. Following, he asked me to give a rough number for the market size for CAR-T treatment, by setting up several assumptions using common sense and understanding into the industry. Based on my answer, he then talked about his opinions on the industry and market trend, and outlook.

How did you answer each of these questions (please be specific)?:
I started with an estimated number for newly diagnosed cancer patients within US, which I said would be close to 1 million. Among these patients, half of then, while 50%, would choose to take CAR-T therapy, whose price is said to be around 400K/treatment. Then, I started the calculations. However, my assumptions for the market share for CAR-T was too optimistic and oversaw the factor that only a small fraction of patients, who suffer lymphoma, would take the treatment at the current stage. Therefore, the ratio of patients undergo the treatment would be much lower than my estimation.
