How did you get the interview?:
College / University / On Campus Recruiting
What were the most difficult or unexpected interview questions asked?:
There were of course the generic questions such as "walk me through your resume" and "why quant research". The interviewer also asked me what i thought my strengths and weaknesses were. There were two technical questions which I felt that I should have done better on. The first question was a probability question which was how long it would take to roll all the numbers on a 6 sided dice. The second question was a simple coding question which was to describe how you would write a function that could return the two numbers that summed to an input number given a vector of possible numbers.

Please describe the interview / hiring process.:
There was an invitation to the headquarters shortly after submitting the online application. About 3 weeks after that networking session I received an email for an in-person interview. The superday is roughly a week after the in person interview.

How did you answer each of these questions (please be specific)?:
I spent about 10 minutes of the interview discussing my relevant side projects, and my familiarity with python, matlab, R and vba. I said that my weakness was presentations which in hindsight was probably a weak answer and I could have thought about something that could have been turned into a positive. The probability question stumped me and the interviewer basically explained to me that it was the sum of the of a sequence of geometric random variables. For the coding question, I explained that given the input vector I would test the first index with itself and check if the sum equaled the desired value. If it didn't I would move onto the next index using a for-loop. The interviewer seemed satisfied with the second answer.
